Acadia Connect helps ensure that it’s easy for you or your loved one to start and continue NUPLAZID therapy. We’re here to support those prescribed NUPLAZID and their care partners with getting their medication, insurance, affordability, and prescription assistance.
Acadia Connect can help to:
- Provide education on Parkinson's disease-related hallucinations and delusions and information regarding NUPLAZID
- Share information on insurance coverage and potential financial support options
- Coordinate with in-network pharmacies for the timely and convenient delivery of NUPLAZID
- Provide ongoing engagement, support, and education throughout the potential treatment journey

Acadia Connect services and support
- Insurance: Acadia Connect provides insurance support services to help you or your loved one understand and navigate the insurance coverage process for NUPLAZID
- Financial assistance: Eligible patients with commercial insurance may pay as little as $0 per month for NUPLAZID after being enrolled in the Acadia Connect Commercial Copay Program.* If your loved one does not have insurance, or if NUPLAZID is not covered by their insurance plan, Acadia Connect can provide financial assistance options such as the Acadia Connect Patient Assistance Program†
- Prescription fulfillment: We partner with in-network pharmacies to process and fill your or your loved one’s NUPLAZID prescription(s). This service helps patients start therapy as soon as possible and regularly receive their prescriptions on time
- Delivery: Once you or your loved one’s prescription details are finalized by the appropriate pharmacy, they will schedule delivery to the location most convenient for you. Acadia Connect will also contact you regularly to coordinate shipment of prescription refills
- Ongoing support: Acadia Connect will regularly touch base with you to provide education on your loved one’s potential treatment with NUPLAZID, and assist you with any changes you may be experiencing with your loved one’s insurance, financial situation, or prescription delivery

How to get your NUPLAZID prescription filled
Rx sent
Your NUPLAZID prescription will be filled by a specialty pharmacy. Once you or your loved one's prescription details are finalized, they will schedule delivery to the location you specify.
Keep in touch
Acadia Connect, or a specialty pharmacy, will reach out to you by email or call or text you from a phone number you may not recognize. Because they're getting in touch with you to confirm important details and schedule pickup or delivery, your prompt reply can help minimize delays.
Check in
If you haven't received your medication within 2 weeks, call your pharmacy or healthcare provider's office to check on the status.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION and INDICATION
What is the most important information I should know about NUPLAZID?
- Medicines like NUPLAZID can raise the risk of death in elderly people who have lost touch with reality (psychosis) due to confusion and memory loss (dementia).
- NUPLAZID is not approved for the treatment of patients with dementia who experience psychosis unless their hallucinations and delusions are related to Parkinson’s disease.
Who should not take NUPLAZID?
- Do not take NUPLAZID if you have had an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients in NUPLAZID. Allergic reactions have included rash, hives, swelling of the tongue, mouth, lips, or face, throat tightness, and shortness of breath.
- Do not take NUPLAZID if you have certain heart conditions that change your heart rhythm. It is important to talk to your healthcare provider about this possible side effect. Call your healthcare provider if you feel a change in your heartbeat.
What other warnings should I know about NUPLAZID?
- QT Interval Prolongation: NUPLAZID may increase the risk of changes to your heart rhythm. This risk may increase if NUPLAZID is taken with certain other medications known to prolong the QT interval. Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take or have recently taken.

What medicine might interact with NUPLAZID?
- Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take. Other medicines may affect how NUPLAZID works. Some medicines should not be taken with NUPLAZID. Your healthcare provider can tell you if it is safe to take NUPLAZID with your other medicines. Do not start or stop any medicines while taking NUPLAZID without talking to your healthcare provider first.
What are the common side effects of NUPLAZID?
- The common side effects of NUPLAZID include swelling in the legs or arms, nausea, confusion, hallucination, constipation, and changes to normal walking. These are not all the possible side effects of NUPLAZID. For more information, ask your healthcare provider about this medicine.

Indication
NUPLAZID is a prescription medicine used to treat hallucinations and delusions associated with Parkinson’s disease psychosis.
How should I take NUPLAZID?
The recommended dose of NUPLAZID is one 34 mg capsule once per day, taken by mouth, with or without food.
NUPLAZID is available as 34 mg capsules and 10 mg tablets.
